Fargo (trfnews.i234.me — Police say a man is in custody after a robbery report Saturday morning in Fargo.

Authorities say Timothy Hampton, 60, of Fargo, was arrested and booked into the Cass County Jail.

Police say the robbery call came in at 11:35 a.m. Saturday.

Officers were sent to a business in the 2400 block of University Drive South.

Police say staff called 911 and reported a man robbed the business.

Police say the suspect displayed a pistol during the incident.

Staff reported the suspect left the area on foot, according to police.

Police Say Suspect Was Identified

Officers began checking the area after the report, police said.

During the investigation, police say they identified the suspect as Hampton.

Police say officers then canvassed the surrounding neighborhood.

Authorities say a citizen provided information during that canvass.

Police say the citizen reported Hampton was staying at a nearby hotel.

Officers went to a hotel in the 1300 block of 21st Avenue South, police said.

Police say they located Hampton and took him into custody without incident.

Felony Charge Filed

Hampton was arrested for felony robbery with a firearm, police said.

He remained in the Cass County Jail as of Saturday night, police said.

Court records will list his next appearance date.

Charging documents may include more details about what was taken.

Police have not released details about any weapon recovered.

They have also not released any victim injury information.

Criminal charges are accusations and are not proof.

Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
