Otter Tail County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo teen is facing gross misdemeanor charges after he was found allegedly intoxicated on private property in Otter Tail County and later registered a BAC of .16.

According to a criminal complaint, on July 4, 2025, deputies were dispatched around 8:21 p.m. to a report of a suspicious person spotted on a Ring camera at a residence located at 22476 County Highway 83. The homeowner was not present and did not recognize the individual.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a vehicle registered to Caiden Charles Freeman (DOB: 04/18/2006) and located Freeman on the property. Officers had reportedly interacted with him earlier in the day and noted that he had appeared intoxicated at that time as well.

Freeman initially claimed he had been dropped off to visit a friend but later admitted that he had driven to the property after drinking three beers at the river. Deputies observed signs of impairment including slurred speech, watery eyes, unsteady balance, and admitted alcohol use. He refused to take a preliminary breath test (PBT) at the scene but was arrested and later submitted to a DMT breath test, which returned a result of .16 BAC, twice the legal limit.

Freeman is now charged with:

  • Count I: DWI – Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol (Gross Misdemeanor)

  • Count II: DWI – Alcohol Concentration 0.08 or More Within 2 Hours (Gross Misdemeanor)

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.
