Fargo, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A shoplifting attempt turned violent at the Target store on 13th Avenue South Friday afternoon, leaving two employees injured and a 43-year-old man facing multiple charges.

According to Fargo Police, officers were called to the scene shortly before 3 p.m. after reports of a shoplifter armed with a weapon. When they arrived, they found two men fighting in the store’s entryway.

Target’s loss prevention employees told police they had attempted to stop Derrick Lambert, 43, after he tried to leave the store without paying for several items.

Instead of cooperating, Lambert rammed them with a shopping cart and began fighting with the employees.

One employee reportedly suffered bruises, while the other sustained a cut caused by scissors Lambert had allegedly used to remove security tags from a suitcase.

Lambert was arrested at the scene and is now charged with robbery, theft, and assault.
