FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – In a harrowing incident at Dakota Park Apartments in Fargo, a suspect narrowly avoided a potentially deadly encounter with police. In the early morning of August 24th, officers responded to a disturbance involving Matthew Nystrom, who had previously been banned from the property.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Nystrom, who was reportedly yelling that he had a gun in his back. Despite the low visibility due to darkness and minimal artificial light, the situation escalated quickly when Nystrom, holding a black and white object in his left hand, taunted the officers and then made a sudden move to flee.

As Nystrom ran, he struggled and kicked at the officers attempting to subdue him. No shots were fired, and it was later determined that Nystrom did not possess a weapon. He now faces serious charges including terrorizing, simple assault on a peace officer, and preventing arrest.
