Fargo, Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — Fargo police are investigating a stabbing near downtown Fargo. The call came in around 12:13 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026. Officers responded to the 500 block of Broadway North.
Police say an adult man was found hurt at the scene. They say his injuries were serious. The man told officers that another adult man stabbed him. Police say the men knew each other.
A physical fight led to a stabbing
Police say the men got into a physical altercation. Investigators say that the fight led to the stabbing. The victim was taken to a local medical facility. Police described his injuries as serious.
Early reports placed the incident near the Bismarck Tavern. That bar is in the Broadway North area downtown. Police have not released the victim’s name. They also have not released the other man’s name.

Police say officers quickly searched nearby businesses. Officers located a person of interest in a nearby business. Police say the person was detained without incident.
