Amire Logan

FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Lesser charges of unlawful possession of firearms have been filed against Amire Logan, the man suspected of shooting and killing Zion Brooks in Fargo on June 24, 2024. Logan told his mother that Brooks had a gun, and he acted in self-defense.

According to court documents, the shooting occurred outside the Arbor Apartments in Fargo. At approximately 8:17 p.m., Fargo police responded to a report of a shooting. They found Zion Brooks lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the left side of his face. A Taurus G3C 9mm pistol was found under Brooks, and a spent .45 caliber casing was located at the scene.

Witnesses stated that Brooks had a gun out and approached Logan, who was in the parking lot. Logan reportedly called his mother after the incident, saying, “A guy put a gun in my face. I did what I had to do, Mom. I shot him back.”

Logan, who has previous convictions, is prohibited from possessing firearms under North Dakota law. He has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm but not with the murder of Zion Brooks.
