Fargo police have identified the victim of Monday night’s fatal shooting as 24-year-old Zion Brooks, a Fargo resident. The search is ongoing for the person of interest in the case, J’Veonte Malike Logan, also known as Amire Logan. Logan, a 20-year-old Fargo resident, is believed to be driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with North Dakota plates 628 DZR.

On Monday at 8:16 p.m., officers responded to a shooting report in the 2200 block of 6th Avenue South. They found Brooks with severe gunshot wounds to the face. He was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced deceased despite life-saving efforts.

If anyone locates Logan, they are advised not to approach or attempt to apprehend him. Instead, they should call 911 and provide information on his last known location, direction of travel, clothing description, and any companions.
