FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – During the arrest of Luis Montanez in Fargo, a police officer was subjected to being kicked in the groin and spat on. The incident, which occurred on May 10th at 8:47 p.m., unfolded when two officers responded to a disturbance at Matt Bus on NP Avenue. Given Montanez’s history of intoxication and previous calls for service, an officer decided to place him on a chemical hold. Despite commands to stop in both English and Spanish, Montanez attempted to evade detainment. During the struggle, he kicked one officer in the groin, causing significant pain. While en route to Sanford ER for assessment, Montanez’s disruptive behavior necessitated a stop. He continued his resistance by kicking at officers and spitting on one officer on two separate occasions. Montanez now faces charges including simple assault, contact by bodily fluids, preventing arrest, and refusal to halt.
