Fargo, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Scott Tweten has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault – Domestic Violence following a disturbing incident on May 22 at a Fargo Motel 6 that left a woman with permanent spinal injuries.
Police responded after reports of a woman screaming for help. Inside, they found the victim numb from the neck down and in severe pain. Hospital exams later revealed fractures to her C5 and T1 vertebrae and a spinal cord injury.
The victim eventually told officers she believed Tweten, her only companion in the room, intentionally hurt her for trying to leave, although not intend to cause such serious damage. Nurses confirmed the injuries are life-altering, though physical therapy may help restore some mobility.
Tweten faces up to 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine. His preliminary hearing is set for July 16.
