Cass County (trfnews.i234.me)A routine call escalated into a violent confrontation on May 17, 2025, when Fargo police officers attempted to arrest 43-year-old Aaron Wayne Anderson at a local motel. Anderson, a registered high-risk sex offender, refused to vacate his room, leading to a physical altercation during which two officers sustained injuries.

According to court documents, as officers tried to detain Anderson, he resisted arrest, resulting in one officer suffering two significant cuts to his shin and another officer hitting their head and shoulder against a wall, causing a substantial lump. Anderson was eventually subdued at taser point and taken into custody. He sustained minor cuts during the struggle.

Anderson has been charged with two felony counts of simple assault on a peace officer and a misdemeanor charge for preventing arrest. He was transported to Essentia Health for medical clearance before being booked into the Cass County Jail.

This incident adds to Anderson’s criminal history. In May 2023, he was convicted in Cass County for corruption or solicitation of a minor and indecent exposure involving a 16-year-old girl. The North Dakota Sex Offender Risk Assessment Committee has classified him as a high-risk offender, requiring lifetime registration.
