Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) — A Moorhead man is facing a pair of felony charges after police say he stole a Toyota RAV4 from a Fargo gas station and was later found with methamphetamine.
According to newly filed court documents, Fargo Police were called at 8:51 p.m. on November 18 to the Little Duke’s gas station on the west side of Cashwise Foods. The caller told officers he had gone inside the store for a brief moment and returned to discover that his Toyota RAV4 was missing.
Police reviewed surveillance and issued a vehicle theft alert. Officers began searching the surrounding area and conducting patrols along major roads commonly used by auto theft suspects. Investigators say the vehicle was taken quickly after the owner entered the store.
Nearly two hours later, officers located a man matching the suspect description. He was identified as Andrew Collison, of Moorhead. Police detained him and questioned him about the missing vehicle. Court documents state that Collison made statements that led officers to believe he had taken the RAV4.
During the arrest process, officers allegedly found methamphetamine in Collison’s possession. The substance field-tested positive, and officers seized it as evidence. Police have not released additional details about where the vehicle was found or the condition it was in. The owner was later notified that the vehicle had been located.
Collison is now charged in Cass County District Court with:
- Felony theft of property — related to the stolen Toyota RAV4.
- Felony possession of methamphetamine — based on items recovered during the arrest.
He was booked into the Cass County Jail following his arrest. A court date is expected to be scheduled in the coming days. Police have not said whether additional charges are possible.
