Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – Axel Ortiz, a Fargo resident, was sentenced in August 2024 to 200 days in jail after pleading guilty to child neglect. Ortiz was initially charged with gross sexual imposition and child neglect following an incident on February 14, 2024, but the gross sexual imposition charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

The girl appeared scared, began crying, and indicated that Ortiz had assaulted her. Ortiz, who only speaks Spanish, denied any wrongdoing during an interview conducted with the assistance of an interpreter.
