FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – In July 2022, Fargo resident Maichael Yousa was involved in a series of incidents leading to his arrest. He allegedly struck a motorcyclist and discharged over 30 rounds from his apartment before engaging in a pursuit with law enforcement, culminating in an exchange of gunfire on the tri-level.
Yousa faced 14 charges, including attempted murder. His trial commenced in June 2024 and was extended into September. Both the prosecution and defense acknowledged Yousa’s severe mental psychosis, agreeing that while he committed the acts, he likely has no recollection of them.
The court determined that Yousa lacked criminal responsibility due to his mental state, resulting in a verdict of not guilty. He has been committed to a state hospital for further evaluation. A subsequent hearing is scheduled for February 21, 2025, to issue a final order.
