Fargo Man Evicted Over Renters Insurance Dispute Despite Providing Proof, Says Tenant

FARGO — A Fargo man, Robert Boelke, is being evicted after Goldmark Property Management claimed he failed to pay renters insurance and late fees. Boelke, who has rented from Goldmark since 2019, insists he provided proof of third-party insurance through State Farm, dating back to 2019, years before Goldmark required the coverage in 2022.

The dispute escalated when Goldmark started charging Boelke $11 a month for their insurance, plus $80 in monthly late fees, totaling $413.97. Despite showing documents proving he had renters insurance, Goldmark claims they never received the paperwork. The court ultimately ruled in favor of Goldmark, ordering Boelke to vacate his apartment within five days.

Boelke, frustrated by the situation, expressed disbelief at the ruling, stating that the eviction has cost him time and money. Goldmark’s refusal to discuss the issue before the court hearing has only added to the confusion.
