Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he sexually assaulted a woman and threatened to kill officers and their families.
According to court documents, Fargo Police responded to a report of an active sexual assault. Dispatchers said they could hear a man yelling, “I’m going to kill you,” during the call.
When officers arrived, the female victim came out of the residence showing visible injuries, including redness and swelling on her face. Inside the residence, officers found Luis Mireles, fully unclothed. He reportedly refused to approach them and told officers to leave.
After eventually complying, Mireles began fighting with officers, pulling away and refusing commands. He was placed in handcuffs and escorted outside. While being put into a squad car, Mireles allegedly threatened an officer, saying he would “make sure your family gets murdered” and told him he was “marked.” He also said he intended to kill his own family.
The victim told police that Mireles tried to remove her clothing against her will and struck her by pulling her hair and hitting her head against the kitchen floor. She escaped to the bathroom and called for help. Court documents say that when she tried to leave, Mireles, still unclothed, assaulted her again while threatening to kill her.
Mireles was transported to Cass County Jail and did not provide a statement to investigators.
He now faces six charges, including:
-
Attempted gross sexual imposition (felony)
-
Preventing arrest (felony)
-
Two counts of terrorizing (felony)
-
Simple assault (misdemeanor)
Mireles’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 1 in Cass County District Court.
