CASS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo man has been charged in federal court for his alleged role in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation that investigators say spanned nearly a year across the Fargo-Moorhead region.

According to court documents filed by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Austin Michael Muck, also known as “A-Town,” was charged on October 1 in U.S. District Court with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The case began following Muck’s arrest on November 14, 2024, by West Fargo Police on charges including fleeing police, reckless endangerment, and drug possession. Officers found nearly $4,800 in cash on Muck during that arrest.

Federal investigators, including the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and Cass County Drug Task Force, later linked Muck to a larger meth distribution network operating in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

While Muck was in jail, investigators monitored recorded phone calls where he allegedly instructed others to delete evidence from his seized cell phone. A search warrant executed on the device on November 21, 2024, revealed “significant narcotics activity” and messages with a supplier known as “Jon.”

That supplier was later identified as Christopher Flowers of Chicago. According to court records, Flowers used Airbnb rentals in Fargo for drug transactions and regularly traveled from Illinois to North Dakota to deliver methamphetamine.

Flowers was arrested on November 25, 2024, at a residence on 10th Street North in Fargo after trying to escape through a second-story window. Authorities recovered approximately 958 grams of methamphetamine, 99 grams of powdered fentanyl, 239 fentanyl-laced pills, and over $10,000 in cash.

Investigators say Flowers told agents that Muck typically received between one and two pounds of methamphetamine per meeting. A search of Muck’s apartment at 2107 17th Street South on December 6, 2024, uncovered smaller drug quantities and $28,150 in cash hidden in a safe.

Two cooperating witnesses later provided further details, telling investigators they saw Muck with multiple pounds of methamphetamine and estimated he distributed between 15 and 25 pounds in total over several months.

Muck made his first federal court appearance on October 2, 2025, in Fargo. A detention hearing is scheduled for October 7. He remains in federal custody pending that hearing.

The case remains under investigation by the DEA and Cass County Drug Task Force, with assistance from several local and federal agencies.
