Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is facing a felony charge after authorities say he was driving up to 90 mph under the influence of both alcohol and THC when he rolled his vehicle in Beltrami County, seriously injuring his passenger.

According to a criminal complaint, on May 16, 2025, Beltrami County deputies responded to a crash on Highway 71 after a witness reported being passed at high speed by a vehicle that soon lost control and rolled into the trees.

The driver was identified as Marty Wynde Funmaker, 24, who admitted to drinking Hennessy and ingesting THC. Deputies at the scene noted signs of impairment, and a search warrant was executed for a blood sample.

The front passenger was found unconscious with substantial injuries and later told deputies the vehicle was traveling 80-90 mph at the time of the crash. Both occupants were transported to the hospital.

Funmaker is charged with:

  • Felony Criminal Vehicular Operation – Substantial Bodily Harm – Under Influence Combination
    (Minn. Stat. 609.2113.2(2)(iv))

He faces up to 5 years in prison or a $10,000 fine if convicted.
