FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a burglary call early Sunday morning.

According to Cass County court documents, at about 2:13 a.m., a woman texted 911 to report that someone was trying to enter her apartment. She told officers she believed it might be her ex-boyfriend, Cole Simenson, though she could not confirm because her door did not have a peephole.

The victim also informed police that the night before, Simenson had repeatedly called and texted her, messages she had ignored.

While speaking with the woman, an officer saw a man leaving the building. Two officers followed the individual, later identified as Simenson, while another cleared the apartment.

Police say Simenson appeared nervous and tried to act uninvolved. When told he could not leave until the investigation was complete, he became agitated and attempted to walk away several times.

Officers placed Simenson under arrest. During the struggle, one officer sustained minor injuries to their hand and knees.

Simenson was transported to a local hospital for evaluation before being booked into jail. He now faces charges of felony burglary and resisting arrest, causing injury.

The case remains under review in Cass County District Court.
