Moorhead, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — On this Monday, March 17th, charges were officially filed against Borris Steven Dahn, a Fargo, North Dakota man, accused of a violent assault and rape of his ex-girlfriend in Moorhead earlier this year.

According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred on January 25th, 2025. The victim reported to law enforcement that Dahn showed up at her residence intoxicated. Once inside, he allegedly forced her into her bedroom, where he became violent. The victim told police that Dahn warned her by saying, “this can be easy or this can be hard, just turn around,” and later added, “your kid can hear you,” prompting the victim to stop screaming in fear.

Dahn allegedly choked the victim with his forearm, restricting her airway to the point where she couldn’t breathe, and her ears began ringing. The complaint states Dahn then sexually assaulted her.

After the assault, the victim said Dahn took her phone, transferred $500 to his own bank account without consent, took her vehicle keys, and drove off in her car.

Dahn now faces a list of serious felony charges:

  • First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct – Use of Force (maximum 30 years in prison)
  • Domestic Assault – Two or More Prior Convictions
  • Domestic Assault by Strangulation
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle

Law enforcement confirms that DNA evidence currently supports the victim’s statements. Dahn remains under investigation pending further court proceedings.

We will continue to follow this developing story closely.
