Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is facing felony charges after police say he assaulted an officer during an incident earlier this week.

According to court records, officers were dispatched around September 10 to the 2700 block of 12th Avenue South. They responded to a report of a man with blood on his face, shirt, and hands. The suspect was identified as Bugwuji Hill.

Police say Hill told them he had been in a fight. Officers described him as tense and uncooperative during their interaction. He reportedly asked to be arrested and returned to jail.

The situation escalated when Hill began fighting with officers. Court documents state he punched one officer in the side of the head before being subdued with a Taser. He was taken into custody without further incident after the struggle.

Prosecutors have charged Hill with felony counts of simple assault on a peace officer and preventing arrest. Both charges carry significant penalties under North Dakota law. The case has been filed in Cass County District Court.

Authorities say Hill remains in custody pending his initial court appearance. Additional details may be released as the case proceeds through the legal system.
