Cass County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Fargo man is facing a felony charge after an alleged assault on a nurse. The case unfolded on August 29th when officers responded to a Fargo motel for a suicidal person. Court records identify the suspect as Clinton Dollens.

According to documents, officers discovered Dollens had an outstanding warrant. When asked if he had used narcotics, he admitted to drug use and then collapsed to the floor. Due to his condition, officers transported him to a hospital for treatment.

At the hospital, while medical staff were treating him for overdose symptoms, Dollens allegedly slapped a nurse. The incident disrupted care and prompted further action by law enforcement at the hospital.

After he was medically cleared, Dollens was booked and formally charged. He now faces a felony count of simple assault for striking the nurse during treatment. Authorities note that violence against healthcare workers is a growing concern across the region.

Cases like this highlight the risks medical staff face when treating patients experiencing mental health and drug-related crises. Healthcare associations and safety advocates continue to push for stronger protections for frontline workers.
