Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – In a disturbing case out of Fargo, North Dakota, James Anthony Gunwall is now facing multiple felony charges after a child pornography investigation led authorities to a shocking discovery.
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) received a tip that sparked an inquiry into Gunwall’s digital activity. Investigators allege that Gunwall downloaded explicit images involving minors engaged in sexual acts to his phone.
On May 28, 2025, Gunwall was arrested in Fargo without incident. During the arrest, officers seized a phone allegedly containing illegal images. A subsequent search of an apartment at 5480 28th Avenue South, Unit 304, uncovered a stash of psilocybin mushrooms—an illegal hallucinogen under North Dakota law.
Gunwall now faces two felony charges:
