FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man has been arrested and charged after allegedly sabotaging internet and cable services at seven different locations across the city. Timothy Paul Windels, the suspect, was apprehended following a tip-off after Fargo police posted his photo on social media.
According to court documents, Windels, who previously worked as an electrician, is now struggling with alcoholism and methamphetamine use. He also suffers from mental health issues, including a fixation on wires, believing that the government is monitoring and tracking him through them.
The deliberate wire-cutting incidents resulted in significant service outages, disrupting internet and cable connections for many Fargo residents. Police were able to track Windels down, and he now faces four felony charges for tampering with or damaging a public service.
