Fargo Man Arrested for Driving Stolen Vehicle to Scheels and Shoplifting

FARGO (trfnews.i234.me) – On December 30, 2024, Fargo police arrested 29-year-old Alexander Hoover for driving a stolen vehicle to Scheels on 45th Street South and allegedly shoplifting merchandise.

Incident Details:

  • Stolen Vehicle Identification: The vehicle, reported stolen from Moorhead, was identified using the Fargo Police Department’s FLOCK license plate reading system.
  • Apprehension at Scheels: Scheels employees assisted police in identifying Hoover and a passenger as they exited the store. Hoover was found with the stolen vehicle’s keys and was captured on surveillance video committing theft.
  • Passenger’s Release: The passenger denied knowledge of the vehicle’s stolen status or Hoover’s shoplifting activities and was subsequently released.

Charges and Custody:

Hoover faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and shoplifting. He was transported to the Cass County Jail following his arrest.

Recovery of Stolen Property:

The stolen vehicle has been returned to its registered owner.
