Fargo Man Arrested After YMCA Burglary

FARGO, CASS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo man has been arrested on burglary charges after police say he was found inside the YMCA building without authorization.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched to the YMCA around 7:40 p.m. on September 30 after an IT employee noticed an unknown man on the security cameras. A YMCA staff member also confirmed that the building’s locks had been changed earlier that same day.

When officers entered the building, they located Salvador Arieta inside. Police say Arieta admitted he was the only person there and claimed he had been staying on the third floor of the facility.

During the search, officers found a key labeled “Custodian Master” in Arieta’s possession. They also recovered cameras and other items reported stolen from the building. Arieta was then arrested and transported to Cass County Jail.

He now faces a felony burglary charge related to unauthorized entry and the alleged theft of keys and equipment. Authorities have not released further details on how Arieta obtained access to the building.

The case remains under investigation. For more information on burglary laws in North Dakota, visit the North Dakota Century Code on Burglary.
