Fargo Man Arrested After Police Chase and Foot Pursuit

CASS COUNTY, ND ( trfnews.i234.me— A Fargo man has been arrested following a police chase that involved multiple PIT maneuvers and a short foot pursuit, according to court documents.

Christopher Elliott is facing several charges, including reckless endangerment, fleeing a peace officer, preventing arrest, and possession of methamphetamine and a controlled substance.

According to the Fargo Police Department, the incident began on October 14 when officers attempted to stop Elliott for a traffic violation in the 500 block of 2nd Street East. Instead of stopping, Elliott sped away, leading officers on a pursuit through Fargo’s east side.

Documents indicate the pursuing officer attempted three PIT maneuvers to stop the vehicle. The first attempt was unsuccessful. The second caused Elliott’s vehicle to spin out and jump the boulevard near the intersection of 2nd Street East and 7th Avenue East. The third maneuver successfully stopped the vehicle in the 200 block of 7th Avenue East.

Once the vehicle came to a stop, Elliott allegedly fled on foot, running through nearby residential yards. Officers caught up with him, but he resisted arrest by tucking his hands under his chest. After a brief struggle, he was handcuffed and taken into custody.

During a search, officers reportedly found one gram of methamphetamine and five Adderall pills in Elliott’s possession. Two other people were in the vehicle during the chase. One passenger, identified as Raven Ware, was arrested on outstanding felony warrants.

Elliott was booked into the Cass County Jail and remains in custody pending his first court appearance. Police said the case remains under investigation.
