Moorhead (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is facing multiple felony charges after an early morning armed robbery and dramatic arrest in Moorhead.

According to Moorhead Police, officers were dispatched at 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, to the 3300 block of 3rd Avenue North on a report of an armed robbery at an apartment complex.

When officers arrived, the victim was unharmed but told police that he knew the suspect. During the incident, the suspect allegedly fled by jumping out of a second-story window to escape the scene.

A search for the suspect began immediately but was unsuccessful. However, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person inside McDonald’s at 3009 Highway 10. The man was located, identified as 49-year-old Deshun Jones of Fargo, and taken into custody.

Police say Jones resisted arrest and allegedly assaulted a peace officer during the encounter. He is now being held at the Clay County Jail on the following charges:

  • Felony aggravated armed robbery

  • Felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon

  • Felony fourth-degree assault on a peace officer

  • Misdemeanor obstructing the legal process

Jones remains in custody pending his first court appearance.
