Fargo Felon Pleads Guilty to Firearm Possession in Federal Case

FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A 20-year-old Fargo resident, Kadar Pearson, has pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Pearson was arrested during an investigation into a shots-fired report near The Arbors apartment complex. Authorities discovered him wearing a sweatshirt and ski mask despite warm weather conditions. When approached, Pearson fled the scene and discarded a stolen SIG Sauer 9mm pistol under a vehicle.

The firearm had been reported stolen in Fargo. At the time of the incident, Pearson was on escape status from the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, serving time for previous felony convictions, including possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and theft of a firearm.

Pearson is currently in custody and will remain jailed until his sentencing, scheduled for March 17, 2025.

U.S. Attorney Mac Schneider emphasized the priority of public safety around The Arbors, stating that cases like this are escalated to federal court to ensure accountability. He praised the cooperation between federal and local law enforcement in securing the guilty plea.
