Fargo Bicycle Accident Turns Fatal: 66-Year-Old Man Killed in Collision with Ford F-150

A tragic accident unfolded on September 10, 2024, at the intersection of 25th Street S and 40th Avenue S in Fargo, ND, when a collision between a 2023 Ford F-150 and a bicyclist turned fatal. The incident occurred at 9:32 AM under clear skies and dry road conditions.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 49-year-old Bing Zhang, the driver of the Ford F-150, was making a left turn from 40th Avenue S onto 25th Street S. Simultaneously, 66-year-old Jay Holding Eagle, a local Fargo resident, entered the crosswalk on his bicycle. The Ford F-150 struck Holding Eagle, who was not wearing a helmet, throwing him from his bicycle.

Emergency services, including the Fargo Police Department, Fargo Fire Department, and Sanford Ambulance, responded to the scene. Holding Eagle was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tragically, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, on September 11.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no charges have been filed against Zhang. Both the North Dakota Highway Patrol and local authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident.
