FARGO (trfnews.i234.me) – Faith Dixon, a prominent Fargo activist involved with social justice issues and Black Lives Matter, has been arrested on felony charges related to misusing grant funds. The North Dakota Attorney General’s Office launched an investigation into the FAITH4HOPE Scholarship Fund, which received over $350,000 in grants from the state Department of Public Instruction.

According to court documents, Dixon applied for five separate grants totaling more than $1,548,228 and successfully secured about $350,000. The grant application claimed that the funds would be used to provide comprehensive after-school programs for middle school and high school students, teaching them essential habits for success in life and academics.

However, investigators discovered discrepancies between the intended use of the funds and how they were actually spent. Dixon is now facing five counts of felony theft of property, with four charges carrying a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison each, and one charge carrying a sentence of up to five years behind bars.

Dixon’s husband, Charles Dixon, has also been charged in connection with the case. The investigation was conducted by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the prosecution is being handled by the Attorney General’s Office. When reached for comment, Attorney General Drew Wrigley declined to speak on the matter.
