Brimson, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — A fast-moving wildfire, dubbed the Camp House Fire, ignited near Brimson, Minnesota, on Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2025. The blaze has rapidly expanded, consuming over 750 acres in St. Louis County and prompting the evacuation of several dozen residents.
The fire was first reported around 1:15 p.m. along the 2200 block of County Road 44 in Ault Township. Fueled by dry conditions and gusty winds, the flames spread northeast through the wooded area. As of Sunday evening, multiple structures, including cabins and garages, have been affected, though no injuries have been reported.
Firefighting efforts have been bolstered by aerial support, including a C-130 air tanker and a CH-47 Chinook helicopter, each capable of dropping thousands of gallons of water. Ground crews from various local fire departments, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the U.S. Forest Service are engaged in full suppression tactics.
Evacuated residents have been directed to the Ault Township Hall for assistance. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area to ensure safety and allow emergency personnel to operate effectively.
