CROOKSTON, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A tour of the flood situation in Crookston, Minnesota on Sunday morning.
here’s a quick tour of the flooding situation in crookston minnesota at 9 00 a.m the red lake river here is at uh 23.76 feet uh nearly a six foot rise since uh friday it’s expected to crest late tonight at 25 feet uh late on this sunday night or into monday uh that 25 foot crest should be easily handled by the ex existing dike system which is good uh until around 29 feet you’re looking at central park here now completely flooded again neighborhoods behind it protected by the existing dike system now here’s a drive down riverside avenue along the red lake river on the north side of town dike here failed in this area last week flooded a couple homes here then saturday crews did a little more work adding uh filling in the dike again and supporting it if it did fail again the neighborhood is now uh surrounded by clay dykes most of the homes in this area had already been removed from earlier flood mitigation efforts so at this point we’ve got high water but it appears crookston should be in good shape if the crest stays at the forecasted 25 feet later on this sunday or early into monday morning in crookston i’m neil carlson reporting for eye news dot tv
