Experience History: D-Day Brought to Life by Historian at Local Libraries

MINNESOTA (trfnews.i234.me) – Libraries in Bagley and Fertile will host “Operation D-Day,” inviting audiences to witness a profoundly crucial historical event come to life through a presentation by Minnesotan historian and educator Arn Kind. These programs will honor the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the day when Allied nations launched Operation Overlord, the surprise invasion of France.

In these living history performances, Kind will vividly portray the invasion, accomplished by thousands of brave young American, British, and Canadian soldiers parachuting behind enemy lines and wading through heavy surf onto the beaches of Normandy.

“Operation D-Day” will be held on Friday, June 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Fertile Public Library at 101 Mill Street South, and on Saturday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bagley American Legion at 112 Main Avenue North, in partnership with Northern Exposure to Lifelong Learning. Admission is free, thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Fund, and the programs are sponsored by the Lake Agassiz Regional Library.
