EXCLUSIVE UPDATE: Target Of Shots Fired In Grand Forks Was Backyard Of Murder Suspect’s Mother

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A relative says the target of shots fired in Grand Forks Sunday was the backyard of a murder suspect’s mother.

– Shots were fired at a home in Grand Forks, at the corner of Campbell Drive and 12th Street.
– The home belongs to the mother of Valentin Mendoza, who is charged with killing two people in a crash last year.
– More than a dozen gunshots were found through the fence of the home.
– 13 shell casings were found on the road.
– It is not clear what motivated the shooting.
– There were children playing in the backyard at the time.
– The bullet missed one child’s head by a small distance.
– Bullet holes were also found in neighboring properties.

On Sunday afternoon, more than a dozen gunshots were fired through the backyard fence of a Grand Forks home belonging to the mother of Valentin Mendoza, the man charged with killing two people in a crash last year. Mendoza has pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree murder after allegedly intentionally driving his truck into another vehicle, killing two young men in East Grand Forks in June 2021. A relative of Mendoza said that 13 shell casings were found on the road, and there were bullet holes in the next-door neighbor’s garage and another home next door. One child was playing in the backyard at the time, and the bullet went right above his head. The motive for the shooting is unknown, but it is assumed to be related to Mendoza. It is believed that the shooters parked on the road, emptied their nine-millimeter, and then left. Further information is still awaited from the police.

  1. seeing as coincidence is not likely, someone shot that house because of valentin's actions. however, im positive neither of those boys would have wanted this person to take a step that far in getting them justice..
