ST. PAUL, MN (trfnews.i234.me) We have an update to an exclusive story we first brought you on Friday. A teenager from Saint Michael, North Dakota will now undergo surgery on Tuesday, after being dosed with gas and set on fire.
this is st. Michael North Dakota it’s it’s a long Devil’s Lake on the Spirit Lake reservation last Thursday a horrendous crime here a suspect dumped gas or lighter fluid on a 15 year old boy and set him on fire I just talked with his mother Tiffany two Eagles by telephone from Regions Hospital in st. Paul where he’s recovering from his burns your son 15 year old Winfield Caskey the third had gasoline lighter fluid dumped on him when last Thursday at first of all I’ll be doing well it’s not what we expected most of his burns our third degree and so now he will have to have the surgery scheduled for tomorrow morning and they will be doing taking off the burns on most of the areas his torso which means the front of his chest his back both legs and all of his right arm and a little part of his left arm okay I saw the pictures you had posted on Facebook it looked like his face is okay but it’s basically from his neck down yes and how’s he doing is he able to talk to you and oh yes he can talk to me and we’re trying to keep his spirits up and it was a little worried about surgery but the burn surgeon team is very very excellent and they’re doing the best that they can explained it all and the best we can to control his pain all right so I hope your son does well and what have you heard about a suspect anybody arrested or they don’t know why or what happened yet no I haven’t officially haven’t heard anything they if the FBI I know is very very interested in interviewing Winfield’s but um he’s just not ready for that yet and he probably won’t be for maybe in another week or so I suppose after after this initial surgery okay in your mind any idea why this happened I mean who would dump lighter fluid gas on that kid and set him on fire someone who evil and sick that’s the only thing I can think of because Winfield had no enemies he’s the best kid asked anyone who’s the best fit around his is always nice he’d be he’d run up to you and pick up something if you had dropped it he’d carry your groceries for a year he um help open the door for you that’s how my son is all right okay best of luck yet and this help your son makes it out through all this thank you so much I’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
