Event at the Fish House on Lake of the Woods

LAKE OF THE WOODS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A Minnesota man is facing an Assault charge, following an alleged incident on Lake of the Woods.
we have a report of an ice house incident on lake of the woods a bovee minnesota man has been charged with third degree assault following an incident that occurred in a fish house on lake of the woods according to the criminal complaint on january 18th at approximately 9 p.m lake of the woods county sheriff’s office sergeant ben dewick was notified regarding an assault that occurred in a fish house on lake of the woods about five miles north of swift ditch dueck was told the roseau county sheriff’s office was transporting a victim to the hospital to be treated for his injuries when questioned the victim said that he had been fishing with jacob william kangas 36 of bovee minnesota when kangas allegedly made advances toward him after asking kangas to stop several times the victim allegedly threatened to text kangas wife it was at that point the victim claims that kangas assaulted him the victim also told officers he had attempted to record the fight on his phone and that some or all of the incident may have been recorded but the location of his phone was unknown upon arriving at the fish house where the alleged assault had occurred sergeant dueck interviewed kangas during the interview the officer observed cuts and blood on kangas hands kangas admitted he had been fishing with the victim but denied that anything else had occurred sergeant dewick and deputy nate hayes spoke to the occupants of the neighboring fish house they told the officers that the victim had barged into their fish house and he had a black and blue eyes and a large burn on his back as well as numerous cuts and abrasions the victim was treated for his injuries which included second-degree burns on his back at the life care hospital in roseau kangas has been charged with third degree assault a felony which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and or a ten thousand dollar fine i’m Neil Berg reporting for pageonepublications.com
