Neil Berg here in P West Florida my trip uh through the southern us ends here this is the farthest Southern point in the United States no uh way to go south from here unless you got a [Music] boat Key West is at the southern end of the Florida Keys roughly 4 miles long and 1 mile wide the Western most island of the Florida Keys it’s made for two with hundreds of bars restaurants and shops and of course fishing tons of fishing charters for just about whatever you’d like to catch and this was the home of American riter Ernest Hemingway he lived here from 1931 through 1939 with uh one of his four wives Pauline feifer her uncle bought this house for them as a wedding present for $8,000 today it’s a Hemingway Museum Hemingway had a brick wall erected around the property so he could swim new and he spent a considerable amount of time just down the street at Sloppy Joe’s Bar now called Captain Tony’s and Key West is also a destination stop for cruise ships making their way around the Caribbean in Key West Florida I’m Neil Berg reporting for I trfnews.i234.me
