Emergency Response to Inmate Suicide Attempt at Roseau County Jail

ROSEAU, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – An inmate attempted suicide by hanging at the Roseau County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.

The emergency call was made at 3:03 p.m., prompting a swift response from local medical services. “Attention Roseau ambulance, you are needed at the Roseau County Jail for an inmate who has tried to hang himself,” the call stated.

According to Roseau County Sheriff Steve Gust, the 33-year-old male inmate used a bed sheet in his suicide attempt. He was promptly transported to Life Care Medical Center Hospital in Roseau for treatment. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has been notified, and the case is currently under investigation.
