GRAND FORKS, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — Alexander Stewart, a resident of Emerado, North Dakota, has been sentenced following his guilty plea to multiple charges, including attempted murder. The Grand Forks County District Court imposed a 10-year prison term, with six years suspended, resulting in four years of active incarceration.

The charges stem from a September 2023 incident in which Stewart assaulted a woman. He was accused of dragging, choking, and threatening to kill the victim. In addition to attempted murder, Stewart pleaded guilty to domestic violence causing serious bodily injury, terrorizing, felonious restraint, and driving under suspension.

Beyond the prison sentence, Stewart received three years of probation. The court also issued a no-contact order, prohibiting him from any interaction with the victim and restricting him from approaching within 100 yards of her residence.
