Elk River (trfnews.i234.me) – A crash occurred on December 11, 2025, at 6:07 PM, on northbound Highway 169 at Main Street in Elk River, Sherburne County. A 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by 26-year-old Hannah Ruth Kraemer of Otsego, MN, rear-ended a 2011 Kia Forte, driven by 49-year-old Bikyeombe Byaene of Otsego, MN, while both vehicles were reaching the bottom of the off-ramp.
Kraemer, the driver of the Ford Fusion, was wearing her seat belt and was not injured in the collision. Byaene, the driver of the Kia Forte, also wearing his seat belt, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

The road conditions at the time were wet, which contributed to the rear-end collision. The Elk River Police Department and Fire Department responded to the scene.
