Early Morning Shootout in Southeast Minot Leaves Three Injured, Including Shooter

MINOT, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Three people were injured in a shooting during a fight in southeast Minot, including the alleged shooter.

Minot Police received calls about multiple people fighting and possible gunshots in the 10 block of First Avenue Southeast on Sunday, June 23, at approximately 3:10 a.m., the department said in a news release.

Arriving officers stopped a suspect vehicle that was leaving the area. They took Laquint Tydelle Sarvis, 23, from Fayetteville, North Carolina, into custody and seized a firearm from the vehicle, the release said.

Two males suffered gunshot injuries and were taken to a Minot hospital. A 36-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and underwent surgery. A 21-year-old man had minor injuries to his hand and was treated and released from the hospital, the news release said.

Sarvis faces charges of reckless endangerment and felon in possession of a firearm, both Class C felonies. He was treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound to his foot sustained while returning gunfire during the fight, police said. Once released from the hospital, he will be booked into the Ward County Jail.
