Thief River Falls Fire responded to a fire this morning at 130 Oak Avenue North.
Thief River Falls fire was called out this morning at 5:20 to a fire that had originated in the fireplace of the home.
A spark or excess heat had traveled through the flue and moved into an adjacent wall. Occupants of the home had safely exited prior to the fire department’s arrival.
Thief River Falls Fire had to cut a hole in the wall of the building to reach the fire and was able to get the flames put out.
There was moderate damage to the structure and some water damage.
Thief River Falls Fire was able to get power and heat back on within the home and should be clear from the call by 7.
