Earl R. Forkner, age 88, Northfield MN, left this world July 6, 2024. He was born January 20, 1936, in Langdon, ND, son of Richard E. and Joyce Forkner. Earl graduated from Langdon High School and the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.
He retired as Lt. Colonel after 24 years with the ND Air National Guard & USAF.
Earl was staff writer at the Fargo Forum; editor of several publications; account executive with AT&T for 10 years as well as Logistics Officer with FEMA for 3 years.
Earl is survived by Rosalee, his wife of 62 years, children Elizabeth Moe, Jonathan Forkner, Marianne Radtke and Laura Pritchett; 6 grandchildren; sister Susan Gill as well as a network of cherished relatives and friends. Earl was preceded by his parents and his brother Mark Forkner.
Memorial service will be held August 9, 2024, 11:30 at Bethel Lutheran Church, Northfield. Livestream will be available at www.bethelnorthfield.org.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
