Narrative
On June 22, 2024, at approximately 2:13 AM, a single-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of 94th Ave SE and 25th Street, about one mile southeast of Spiritwood Lake in Stutsman County. A 2015 Chevy Malibu driven by Andrew Warnica was traveling eastbound on 25th Street when it left the roadway at 94th Ave SE, striking a ditch and coming to rest in a farm field northeast of the road.
Following the crash, Warnica and his passenger, Aracelia Vargas, left the scene on foot and walked to a nearby resort. Vargas sustained minor injuries in the crash, and neither party reported the incident to authorities. Law enforcement later located Warnica, who was arrested for Actual Physical Control and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving personal injury.
