Narrative

On June 22, 2024, at approximately 01:37 AM, a 2005 Dodge Durango driven by Ryan Lucht was traveling westbound on Highway 23 near mile marker 47. The Durango struck the rear end of a 2016 Freightliner semi pulling a tanker trailer, driven by Kante Moussa. After the initial collision, the Dodge Durango side-swiped an eastbound 2011 Ram 2500 driven by Stephanie Smith. The Durango came to rest in the middle of the roadway, the Freightliner semi stopped in the westbound lane, and the Ram 2500 ended up on the shoulder of the eastbound lane.

Ryan Lucht sustained minor injuries and was charged with DUI and Driving Under Suspension. Kante Moussa, Stephanie Smith, and her passenger, William Smith, were not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
