On the evening of September 16, 2024, a serious motorcycle crash occurred on I-94 East near mile marker 352 in Fargo, North Dakota. The incident involved a 39-year-old female rider on a 2023 Zhejiang Cfmoto sport bike and a 75-year-old man driving a Dodge Ram 2500 towing a tandem axle camper trailer.
As eastbound traffic was backed up due to road construction in Minnesota, the motorcycle rider slowed down to match the pace of the standstill traffic. While creeping forward in the left lane, the motorcycle unexpectedly tipped to the right, throwing the driver off. She landed in the middle lane just as traffic began moving again. Tragically, she was run over and dragged a short distance by the camper trailer.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was promptly transported to Sanford Health by ambulance for treatment.
Authorities from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Fargo Fire Department, and Sanford Ambulance responded to the scene. The rider faces charges of DUI and operating a motorcycle without the proper endorsement on her license. The crash is still under investigation.
No charges have been filed against the driver or passenger of the Dodge Ram, both from Bakersfield, California, who were uninjured in the incident.
