Drunken Gun Incident Lands Neche Man Six Felony Charges

Wesley Symington

NECHE, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Neche, North Dakota man, 52-year-old Wesley Symington, is facing a slew of criminal charges after a chaotic drunken incident involving a gun. According to court documents, the drama unfolded on June 30th, just before 10:00 p.m., when a deputy responded to reports of a possible intoxicated driver who had stopped on the road and exited his vehicle with a gun.

Symington was detained by the deputy, who also secured the firearm. Symington claimed that victims were “hopping on the hood of his vehicle.” When asked how much he had to drink, he admitted to consuming “a couple of beers.” However, his preliminary breath test revealed a blood alcohol concentration of .28, more than three times the legal limit.

Further investigation revealed that Symington had allegedly driven into a driveway earlier and threatened four people with a gun. He now faces six felony counts of reckless endangerment and terrorizing, in addition to a misdemeanor DUI charge.
