Driver Injured In Richland County Beet Truck Rollover

WAHPETON, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me— A truck driver was injured early Monday morning after a beet truck rollover north of Wahpeton. According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened shortly before 5:40 a.m. on October 20.

Authorities say a loaded beet truck was traveling north on Red River Road when the driver attempted to turn west onto County Road 10. During the turn, the truck tipped over onto its passenger side, spilling part of its load.

The driver was able to exit the vehicle with help from a passing motorist. Officials say the driver complained of knee pain following the crash and was later transported to St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge for treatment.

The Wahpeton Fire Department, Wahpeton Police Department, and Richland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. The cause of the rollover remains under investigation, though authorities believe load shifting during the turn may have contributed to the crash.

Beet harvest season often increases truck traffic across the region, and authorities are urging drivers to use caution, especially on rural roads and sharp turns. The Sheriff’s Office also reminds motorists to share the road and be patient during the busy agricultural season.
