SARGENT COUNTY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – On January 15, 2025, at approximately 10:55 p.m., a single-vehicle rollover occurred two miles north of Sisseton in Sargent County, North Dakota. The incident involved a Chevrolet Avalanche traveling eastbound on 97th Street SE near 143 1/2 Avenue SE. The vehicle exited the roadway and overturned into a ditch, coming to rest on the frozen surface of Lake Tewaukon.
The driver, identified as 44-year-old Knowell Gilbert, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Oaks Community Hospital for medical treatment. He has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI), operating a vehicle without a license, and lacking insurance. Two male passengers, aged 44 and 42, were present in the vehicle but were not injured.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the crash.
