Charges Filed Against Tamorris Dempsey After Moorhead Shootout Involving Dispute Over a Dog

MOORHEAD, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) – Moorhead police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday evening, resulting in the arrest of 45-year-old Tamorris Dempsey. Dempsey faces multiple charges, including three counts each of 2nd-degree assault, drive-by shooting, and discharge of a firearm.

The altercation began around 7:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of 14th Street South, where two parties, known to each other, became involved in a heated property dispute. As one party attempted to leave in a vehicle, gunfire erupted between the individual in the vehicle and another person at the residence.

The occupants of the vehicle later called 911 to report the incident, leading police to locate and detain two men in the 3000 block of 20th Street South. A third man was detained at the residence.

Although no injuries were reported, stray bullets caused property damage. Police believe they have recovered all firearms involved in the incident.
